Project ROSE-system (high-end security system)

Project ROSE-system, a future basis for high-end security applications
A brand-new approach to (absolute) security and trust for the 'communication and control' functionality in high-end security applications/critical systems!

Cyber security (in all its forms) is a very topical theme in our contemporary society. The dangers posed by the digital world have long been underestimated by users and developers (from various countries). Nowadays, we know better. The vulnerability of ICT systems/applications, whether or not in combination with the internet, is fully in focus. The rise of the IoT (Internet of Things) makes the concern regarding abuse even greater. Cyber war is a serious subject for the ministries of Defense and security & intelligence services. Information is power. Everything and everyone can be tapped. The manipulation of information is a major and global problem.

[highlights]Threats to our businesses[/highlights]
For many companies, cyber crime is one of the biggest threats these days! That is why secure (system-) communication of vital systems is essential. This is where data is continuously exchanged between entities (system elements) to make (often automated) decisions.

Project ROSE-system

Research and development
Since 2018, I have been conducting research and working on a new format for secure system communication. I’m doing this based on the discipline of security technology (read: security systems) because here security (and quality) always comes first.

Current status (Q1/2025)
The ROSE project is still partly in the research and development phase. On the one hand the developed parts are continuously being tested (24/7) and on the other hand possible/needed new functionalities are being researched and solutions are being devised.

ROSE is designed for (real-time) distributed ‘high end security/command and control’ applications and critical short message systems using 9+ security levels with error recognition within milliseconds.

About the ROSE-system

The characteristics of the ROSE-system are among others:

The safety requirements are formed by a combination of:

  • Speed (real-time)
  • Flexibility (possible applications)
  • Developed in ISO-C (c99/c11)
  • Where possible conformity with software development standards: C11, CERT C Coding standard, MISRA-C:2012, BARR-C:2018, AQAP-150 and MIL-STD-498
  • Researched, developed and tested using the AGILE method
  • Throughout the project R&D phase, the finished parts/modules/routines are tested continuously (24/7) in a configuration with 16 systems
  • Technology (hardware and software)
  • Human (biometric)
  • Environment (GPS)
  • Time aspects (UTC) in different timezones
  • Passwords and codes
  • Specific actions
  • Initial setup information

ROSE-system element (satellite)

The ROSE system consists of multiple, interconnected, elements (also called satellites). At this stage of development, 16 satellites are connected via LAN/WAN connections in a mix of Wi-Fi (802.11ac) and wired (CAT-6) network.
